OpenNet Consortium Constructing FTTP Passive Fibre Grid
OpenNet Pte Ltd. has commenced commercial operations on its passive fibre grid, the only Fibre to the Premise (FTTP) grid that will provide passive fibre-based services to essentially every residential and commercial premise in Singapore.
Axia, through its wholly owned Singapore subsidiary, Axia NGNetworks Asia, owns a 30% interest in OpenNet, and led the OpenNet Consortium through the bid process. The other owners and their respective interests are: Singapore Telecommunications Limited - 30%; Singapore Press Holdings - 25%; and SP Telecommunications Pte Ltd - 15%.
The Singapore solution is the first comprehensive metropolitan fibre to the premise deployment and demonstrates that compelling prices, performance and choice can be achieved using Axia’s no conflict open access business approach.
